Converse

Converse is from the Latin roots com(great or intense) + vertere (to turn).

The literal meaning is "to turn away"

- Switching the hypothesis and conclusion of a conditional statement.

 

Example :

The converse of

"If it is raining then the grass is wet"

is

"If the grass is wet then it is raining."
