1.To encourage children to use "Math" Vocabulary in discussion.
2. Understand how to use graphs (Bar, Picto, Tally, Pie, and Grid Coordinate as data (information) to use. Grid and Key are currently tied into our Social Studies Unit as well.
NCTM Standards:Select and use statistical methods to analyze data.
 

4. Objectives-


1. To differentiate the instruction for each student by using Technology, whiteboards, papers, and tools.

3. Observe students working together and engaged by answering or asking questions.

6. Methods Used and Procedures-

A. Introduction-

1.Plotting a grid using ordered pairs

2.X moves to right

3.Y goes up

4. When in pairs X always comes first and then Y separated by a comma. EX: (1,2)
 

B. Development-

1.Review X Y Axis on Smartboard

2.Review the Y (standing up with arms up)

3.Axis is still a # line
 

C. Practice-

1. Reteach 4.4 worksheet (with me)

2. Practice 4.4 worksheet (with a partner or their group as I still work and guide those who need individual assistance)
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Workbook pages 87 and 88

2. Allow students (higher level to work together to create their own "Ordered Pair" sheet and work together (if time allows)
