1.To sort apples by color.
2.To count apples to ten.
3.To create an AB pattern.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
SmartBoard, SmartBoard Apple lesson, pattern paper, apples and pompons.
 
6. Methods Used and Procedures-

A. Introduction-

1.Show students different apples and ask them to compare and contrast.
2.Discuss prior knowledge of apples.
 

B. Development-

1.Show SmartBoard apple lesson and review the first few slides.
2.Concentrate on counting, sorting and then patterning.
 

C. Practice-

1.Create an AB pattern using the SmartBoard lesson.
2.Show an AB lesson using cut out pieces.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Direct students back to their seats. Give out practice AB pattern paper and complete together.
2.Hand out sentence strips and apples and have students create their own AB pattern.
 

E. Accommodations For Students-

1.Give lower functioning students a visual to copy if having trouble.
2.Higher functioning students could create an ABB pattern or a AAB pattern.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Monitor students work and assist as needed.
 

G. Closure-

1.Have a few students share their patterns and have students check them for accuracy.
2. Eat some apple slices for a reward for a good job!
 
7. Evaluation-
Lessons on patterning will continue.
